If you are not familiar with these two products, they allow you to run virtualized instances of Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X (Fusion-only) on your desktop computer.
Workstation is the product line that installs on Windows and Linux desktop computers
Fusion is the product line that installs on Mac OS X desktop computers.
A few of the highlighted capabilities include:
- Windows 8 Support (Server & Desktop)
- OS X Mountain Lion Support (Fusion-only)
- Improved support for nested 64-bit VMs running on a virutalized vSphere or Hyper-V instance a.k.a. vInception: VMs within VMs 🙂
